Meet the Staff
Jon MacKinney, Pastor
Pastor Jon MacKinney is a graduate of Wheaton College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He pastored two churches in Minnesota before planting Chandler Bible Church in 1988, in Chandler, Arizona, where he lives with his wife Jan and their son, Tom. Their two married daughters, Amy and Jill, live with their husbands in Arizona and California respectively. Amy and her husband are also the parents to Pastor Jon and Jan’s three grandchildren.
Pastor Jon has been preaching the gospel since 1979 and has been involved in short-term mission projects all over the world including teaching at Trinity Bible College in Kursk, Russia, and Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia. He has also served on various construction projects in several places.
He recently released his first book, Revelation Plain and Simple, which was compiled from his Sermon Series on Revelation here at Chandler Bible Church. Pastor Jon’s passion is seeing lives changed by the power of God.
Brian Koning, Youth Ministry Leader
Brian is a graduate of Northern Arizona University and is currently enrolled at Phoenix Seminary in the Masters of Divinity program. Throughout college he led men’s bible studies and was an active leader in Campus Crusade for Christ. After school, he married and moved to Washington State to pursue a career in IT. Two years away from Arizona though and God saw fit to call him and his wife Hannah back to Chandler Bible Church, where their families had attended for 10 and 15 years respectively. He now leads the High School Sunday night Youth Group, as well as the Junior High and High School Sunday school class. His passion is teaching the gospel, and helping young men and women grow up with strong and active faiths. Brian and Hannah live in Mesa where they are eagerly expecting their firstborn.
Jennifer Wright, Administrative Assistant
Jennifer is a graduate of Biola University and the Torrey Honors Institute. After marrying her college sweetheart in 2003, Jen and her husband Todd moved to the Phoenix area. CBC served as an election polling place in the 2004 Presidential Elections, which is how Todd and Jen came to find the church. They visited the following Sunday and have called CBC “home” ever since. They have a passion for intimate fellowship in the church body, and appreciate the ways CBC strives to serve the community. They live in nearby Mesa with their dog, Lewis, and are eagerly awaiting the birth of their firstborn child.
